About these terms
These terms apply when you use techgawdess.com or book a visit with Tech Gawdess LLC (“Tech Gawdess,” “we” or “us”). By booking, you’re agreeing to them, so we’ve tried to keep them short and plain. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Booking a visit
When you book on the site, you’re sending us a request for a date and arrival window. We’ll call or text within 24 hours to confirm the time. If we can’t make the slot you picked, we’ll offer another, and you’re free to say no.
We serve Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. If your address turns out to be outside the area we can reach, we’ll tell you and cancel the booking at no cost.
You need to be 18 or older to book, and an adult 18 or older has to be home for the whole visit to let us in, approve the work and do the final walkthrough with your technician.
Prices and estimates
The price you see when you build your project is an estimate, based on your answers about the job. Most jobs come in right at that number. Sometimes a home has surprises, like a brick wall that was described as drywall, or an extra device that needs setting up.
If the job is different from what was described, your technician will explain what’s changed and what it costs before doing anything extra. Nothing beyond the estimate happens without your OK. If you’d rather not go ahead with the change, we’ll finish what was originally booked, or stop if that’s no longer possible, and you pay only for work done.
Promo codes take money off the estimate, can’t be swapped for cash, and may have an expiry date or a minimum spend. One code per booking.
Paying for your visit
You don’t pay anything online. Booking only schedules your visit, and we never ask for a card on the site.
- Before any work starts, your technician looks over the job with you and confirms the price.
- When the work is done, you look it over, and once you’re happy you pay your technician directly for the amount you approved.
All prices are in US dollars.
Cancelling and rescheduling
Plans change, and that’s fine. Cancelling or rescheduling is free up to 24 hours before your arrival window starts. Just call (909) 652-2607 as soon as you know.
If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, please still call us so we can let your technician know and offer the slot to someone else.
If we have to cancel or move your visit, we’ll tell you as early as we can, find you a new time that works, and you won’t pay anything for the change. If your technician is running late, we’ll let you know.
At your home
To help the visit go smoothly and safely, we ask that you:
- Make sure you have the right to approve the work. If you rent, check with your landlord before we drill into walls.
- Clear the work area, and keep pets and kids out of it while we work.
- Tell us about anything we should know, like wiring or pipes you know are behind a wall, or something fragile nearby.
- Have the devices, accounts and passwords we’ll need ready, unless we agreed to supply them.
- Back up anything important before we work on a computer, phone or network. We’re careful with your data, but a backup is the only real protection against loss.
Your technician can decline or stop work that isn’t safe, such as a wall that won’t hold the weight of a TV or electrical work that needs a licensed electrician. If that happens, we’ll explain why, and you won’t be charged for work we didn’t do.
Our guarantee
If something we did isn’t right, tell us and we’ll come back and make it right at no charge. That covers our workmanship: the mount, the install, the setup, the cable runs.
Products and devices are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty, not ours. We’re happy to help you make a warranty claim. Our guarantee doesn’t cover problems caused by later changes, accidents, misuse, or by work someone else did after us.
If something goes wrong
Our technicians are licensed, insured and background-checked, and they take care in your home. If we damage your property while working, tell us within 30 days of the visit and we’ll repair it or pay the reasonable cost of fixing or replacing it.
Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, like lost data, lost income or the cost of a hotel stay, and our total responsibility for any visit is limited to the amount you paid for it plus the cost of repairing any damage we caused. We also aren’t responsible for hidden conditions inside walls or ceilings that we couldn’t reasonably have known about, as long as we took reasonable care. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under California law that can’t be waived.
Using the website
Please use the site only to look at our services, book visits and apply for work. Don’t try to break into it, overload it, or submit someone else’s information. Prices, services and availability on the site may change, and a mistake on the site isn’t a binding offer, though we’ll always honor the price we confirmed with you. The Tech Gawdess name, logo, photos and text belong to us. Links to other sites, like our social pages, are there for convenience, and those sites have their own terms.
Job applications
Applying through our careers page doesn’t create a job offer or a working relationship. If we’d like to move forward, we’ll be in touch about next steps, which include identity and reference checks, a skills check and a background check.
Disputes
If you have a problem, please call or email us first. Most things get sorted out in one conversation. These terms are governed by California law. If we can’t resolve something together, either of us can take it to small claims court or to a court in the California county where the work was done.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms that apply to your visit are the ones in place when you booked it.
